Proton therapy in the field of Oncology

Proton therapy is a modern method of cancer treatment. Compared to a common treatment by irradiation, proton beam is focused mainly on the tumour and does not affect surrounding tissues, leading tosignificantly lower side effects. Proton therapy is suitable for patients with solid tumours where classical irradiation therapy could lead to an injury of adjacent organs and tissues, causing more expensive follow-up treatment, convalescence and decreased quality of life. In such cases proton therapy is a best choice for a successful treatment, faster recovery and minimum side effects.
